Twas the day before Sandy, and in every yard,
Barbecues were rattling, the wind blowing hard.
Flashlights and phones were charged by the hour,
Expecting the failure of Dominion Power.
Bread, water and batteries, they also bought booze,
Certain of services, that they would lose.
Hunkered indoors, with TWC,
Go get your brolly, the dog needs to pee.
While visions of deductibles tortured their brains,
Hurricane Sandy continued her rains.
Telephone linemen overnight in their trucks,
Everyone agreed that Frankenstorm sucks.
(Oct 29 NOAA satellite image, Monday noon in Virginia is gusty and wet.)
